Maria Alejandra Pineda Escobar
Maria Alejandra Pineda Escobar is a consultant and researcher in inclusive business and corporate social responsibility in developing countries. She has been a consultant for CAD, given consultancy for the creation of an innovation center for strengthening cross-sector partnerships for development in Colombia and for the Colombian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CECODES), documenting cases of inclusive territorial development and evaluating the adoption of sustainability principles by financial institutions in the country. Working closely with academia she is also a lecturer on sustainability, globalization and competitiveness subjects from a business perspective; and academic coordinator of the graduate CSR programme for Politecnico Grancolombiano University in Bogota. Maria Alejandra is author of several articles and papers on CSR and sustainability at the base of the pyramid, and of the book chapter “Business, Sustainability and Base of the Pyramid”.

Rosa found an 1,800-meter dumpsite in the Eastern hills of Bogotá and converted it into an ecological urban farm where more than 100 different crop varieties are grown next to farm animals.
