Daughters of the Forest

Daughters of the Forest

"Daughters of the Forest" tells the powerful, uplifting story of a small group of girls in one of the most remote forests left on earth who attend a radical high school — Centro Educativo Mbaracayú (CEM) — where they learn to protect the threatened forest and forge a better future for themselves. Set in the untamed wilds of the Mbaracayú Reserve in rural Paraguay, this intimate verité documentary offers a rare glimpse of a disappearing world where timid girls grow into brave young women even as they are transformed by their unlikely friendships with one another.

Dirty Gold War

Dirty Gold War

A fable about the gold industry, an excursion behind the scenes of this very prosperous sector. On one end of the spectrum, there are the sparkling displays in jewellery shop windows and the luxury industry itself, on the other end there is the condition of those damned by dirty gold, from the Indians to the activists who fight against this murky cartel. A film that transforms the viewer's perspective about this business and makes a contribution to the necessary discussion in favour of more ethically responsible gold.

Revolution Green

Revolution Green

"Revolution Green" is about one man's vision to manufacture biodiesel and one man's quest to use it in his big rig; it's about the American dream and how renewable energy is critical to the future of the world economy. Centered on a husband and wife from Maui, Hawaii; the film documents how in 1996, with no financial backing, they pioneered a waste to energy process that took thousands of tons of waste vegetable oil destined for the Maui landfill and refined it into ASTM certified, B100 biodiesel. Narrated by Woody Harrelson, featuring Willie Nelson.

5 Broken Cameras

5 Broken Cameras

“5 Broken Cameras” is a deeply personal, first-hand account of life and non-violent resistance in Bil’in, a West Bank village surrounded by Israeli settlements. Shot by Palestinian farmer Emad Burnat, who bought his first camera in 2005 to record the birth of his youngest son, Gibreel, the film was co-directed by Burnat and Guy Davidi, an Israeli filmmaker. Structured in chapters around the destruction of each one of Burnat’s cameras, the filmmakers’ collaboration follows one family’s evolution over six years of village upheaval.
