Shadows of Header Munging
Directed by Samuel Baumel and conceived by Matthew Romein and Sophie Sotsky, "Shadows of Header Munging" is a video adaptation of a live interactive dance project mapping projections of the dancers body onto itself using Max/MSP/Jitter and Kinect 3D. It begins in a Connecticut field with a mix of naturalistic and computer-glitched images of a dancer. Water provides the passage to a void in which the skin becomes a projection surface and the image is heavily modified through kaleidescope effects and other matrix manipulations. What began as a body within real space becomes a body feeding back generations of the screen's colors and shapes.
