Moapa Solar Plant Addressed Injustice, Economy and Energy

The Recovery Act following the 2008 recession paved the way for Nevada to spur short-term jobs and a kick off a renewable energy plan. The funding, along with Sen. Harry Reid’s behind-the-scenes negotiations, established the architecture for the Moapa Band of Paiutes to become part of the green energy movement by converting their coal energy plant into a solar power facility.
