"Home Ground," the acclaimed fictional Norwegian soccer drama, stars Norway’s well-known actress Ane Dahl Torp as Helena Mikkelsen, a successful European women’s soccer coach who discovers her achievements are ridiculed by male dominated critics. Her retaliation for respect leads her to become the head coach of an all-male team in a top division European premier league. A single mother, Helena quickly realizes misogyny and hostility dictate her new role, and she finds herself at risk of losing both her daughter and her career.
John Carew (former Norwegian league player ’97-’12) and Axel Bøyum (Eyewitness, Gullruten) also star.
Helena and her team must pull off an impossible run of five wins in a row to save the club from relegation and financial ruin.
When a newly promoted elite series club loses its coach just before the series start, Helena gets the chance to step over to the men's football. But in order to secure the job, he must hijack him in front of the nose at a former foreign professor with large coaching ambitions.
Adrian is called up to the national team and Helena is an expert in studio during his debut match. Player group beats cracks when the truth of the club's economy comes to the surface.
