The Thomson Reuters Foundation visited a makeshift camp in Idomeni, Greece on the border with Macedonia, to speak with refugees and migrants. They asked refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq what they would like to say to the international community. Their messages of gratitude mix with feelings of frustration and wishes for peace.
Razan, a young Syrian refugee, explains her stick-figure drawing of the treaty between Europe and Turkey. "Turkey says go to Europe and Europe says go back."
Iqbal from Afghanistan pleads, "Please stop providing them weapons. Please stop providing them money."
The video was filmed on the same week that governments, aid organizations, and United Nations agencies met in Istanbul to develop a better response to humanitarian crises and disasters.
